About

I have always wanted to build my own business & for years I always thought it would be in the food industry. Life took me places: I graduated High School and joined the Idaho Air National Guard in 1998 (I am presently still serving), I married my wonderful, supporting husband in 2002, and I graduated college from Boise State University in 2006.

My direction shifted after having my first daughter in 2009; I began to immerse myself in all the things I could do for her. This immersion re-sparked my love of sewing and before she was born, I had learned how to sew all-in-one cloth diapers, swaddle blankets, burp cloths, wet bags, and tutus. For the first year of our daughter’s life, my husband was the stay-at-home-dad. It worked, but I missed Madalynn way too much and my husband missed flying.

My husband, who is also a member of the military, was given the opportunity to navigate for the Reno Air National Guard. This opened up a window for me to resign from my full time position with the Idaho Air National Guard and stay home with our daughter. At this point, I started to seriously plan my business; I knew that I needed something for myself, something other than taking care of the family’s needs and our household.

Rosie Cheeks was inspired by my first daughter, Madalynn Rose. It was established in 2010. My mission is to build a company that gives, not takes, from our planet. That brings comfort to both parent and child. That makes my customer’s lives less stressful, and that fosters a child’s imagination and confidence. My objective is to create an exceptional product. My goal is to be the standard of excellence that others compare themselves to in my industry. We have two beagles who have accepted Maladynn with open paws. I love to spend time with my family and friends – both are very important to me. As a family, we love to fish, spend time on the water, camp, stroll, watch movies, and eat food. I love my life! My husband and I consider ourselves very lucky because we love what we do; we are truly living out what we dreamed about as children and we have a very healthy and happy family.

Thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Erin Dorsett
