Ruthy made our clothes when we were girls growing up. When we saw something "store-bought" that dad's factory job couldn't accommodate, Ruthy got out the sewing machine. Invariably, the hand-sewn garment far outshone the manufactured one. We learned about matching plaids across seams, vent pockets and bound buttonholes. Not that we learned how to do all this ourselves! But an appreciation for quality and craft was instilled in us. When I complained about being cold while reading in bed, Ruthy delivered a fleece cape with hand-crocheted edges. Hence the origin of the Scape.
Now Ruthy and her girls are all in on the act making new Scapes every day. We love fleece for its soft warmth and ease of care. Another bonus--it's made from recycled plastic pop bottles! We like it so much, we'll soon be adding a line of skirts and jackets (for men and women) out of this versatile fabric…
