My creative passion made itself evident quite early. When I was about seven years old I created my first original illustrated character, Super Cat. Super Cat wore a cape and could fly. His sole purpose was to fight crime and defeat evil. As a side-line he would rescue other kitties from trees and off of the tops of tall buildings. I also tried ceramics when I was nine, and I have wanted to go back to it ever since.

During the long summers in my home town of Moree in Australia we were given seven to eight weeks of summer holidays (one year I remember we got ten!), because it was considered too hot to go back to school any sooner than February. I ache for those long-gone days of creative innocence, where I would arm myself with a hammer and nails and make wooden boat after wooden boat. Each boat was powered by a rubber band propeller, which I cut carefully out of scrap metal with my dads tin snips. He would often raise a worried eyebrow at my escapades, but would never stop me in my creative pursuits. It kept me busy and out of the way I guess!

These days I live and work in Nottingham in the East Midlands of the United Kingdom. I moved here because I met a beautiful British man who I fell in love with. Because he has a little girl he could not leave Britain, so I made the bold decision to come and live with him here. We laugh about how the law here made us get married very quickly (or else I would have had to go back to Australia), and we sometimes call me his mail-order bride. The truth is, I am his blog-order bride, because we met through blogging, back when it wasn't normal to do so!

I love all things British, am crazy about cats and nature, and am a terrible romantic (once you get past all the tough Aussie-girl swearing). I quit my day job in January 2012 to work on badgers badgers full-time. I am passionate about my little business, the things I make, and the people who shop with me.

My web site and blog can be found at:
http://www.badgersbadgers.co.uk/

My etsy store was once dedicated solely to SAD FACE, a mixed media tabby cat illustration exploring the more difficult aspects of life such as unhappiness, depression and the absence of cake. I created SAD FACE for my own amusement, and shared him with my friends on Facebook. They liked him, and more importantly I liked him.

Now SAD FACE has retired and I make ceramics. I will be adding to my range all the time. To make sure you don't miss out on new products and designs, be sure to add me to your circle or favourite my shop.

See you soon!

Diana
