About

My mother used to wear a necklace, given to her by my dad and made by Georg Jensen. It looked like a sheet of silver but crumpled. Very simple yet really striking, it hung on a long chain. I used to touch it, look at it, sometimes put it on, mostly in secret because it was very precious to my mum. I remember she kept it in a little velvet pouch, she probably still does.

I think that this piece of jewellery was the start of my obsession, it certainly had huge impact on me visually.

What started as a passion has turned into my business. I really like working with my hands, not only working with metal but I am attempting to renovate our house in France, creating a beautiful garden and vegetable patch from scratch...I had been living in London for the last 20+ years.

I was inspired to start my business because, a few years ago, one of my best friends was getting married, in Las Vegas, and I couldn't go.

I wanted to give her something personal, that she could pack in her luggage, but that was also something that would make her feel that I was with her in "spirit" on her special day, as I couldn't be there in person. I decided to make her a charm cluster, that she could sew into her wedding dress on the day, it included an old pearl, a new bead, a charm that belonged to me, and a blue palm tree.

Dani told me afterwards that she could gently feel the charms tinkling as she walked down the aisle, and she knew that I was with her.

For my own wedding, which was very hand made (the dress, the rings, the flowers, the posters, the invitations and the thank you cards!), I forgot to incorporate something old, new, borrowed and blue. In retrospect I was able to think that I had something on that represented these things, a blue dress, and vintage headpiece, a new ring etc but in my heart I knew that I had missed the opportunity to fulfill this tradition.

That is why I developed the idea that I had when my friend got married and created Nuage-Neuf.

I now sell items that are not only made with love but have "love" as the theme, whether it be unisex slogan necklaces, perfect as a present for your girlfriend/boyfriend or mother or very thin gold and silver rings, perfect for your wedding, to which another one can be added at each anniversary. And plenty more...

Love love love Jenny
