About

Hi, my name is Matt Dylan Street. I'm a 3D modeler, wood-worker, and musician. A little over a year ago I was grinding away at my corporate day job when an idea hit me; I can totally build a machine that will set me free from this 8-to-5 in cubicle town! When I got home that day, I eBayed my violin and accordion for some cash so I could start buying circuits, gears, motors, and other robotic accoutrements. I spent the next nine months designing and building a CNC machine (A CNC machine, for those who might not know, is simply a computer-controlled machine; In our case the machine carves wood). Those nine months of laboring on the computer and at the shop, which were, coincidentally, the same nine months that my wife was pregnant with our first child, taught us both a lot about patience and perseverance. My wife, Ali, helps design a lot of the stuff we carve on our handmade CNC. She's an awesome artist, and on a side note, you might enjoy her music... just google "Ali Harter." She's toured Europe a dozen times, had two songs on Grey's Anatomy, and sings in the Oklahoma Rodeo Opry. We live in a tiny house in the town of Choctaw, Oklahoma with our daughter, Bonnie Jean, and our two dogs, Camanche and Wally; we carve little letter blocks for Bonnie and bones for the dogs. All of the wood we use in the stuff we make is either reclaimed from old furniture/buildings or comes from a guy in Guthrie, Oklahoma who mills lumber from trees that people don't want in their yards anymore.
Our shipments are wrapped in repurposed architectural/schematic prints that are sourced from a local engineering firm.

Visit www.fatbison.com to see a chronicle of all the stuff we make and how we make it.
