Pamela Patterson Reinhardt's Profile

About

I've spent most of my adult life as a public school music teacher/band director and now am traveling, currently living in Japan, and spend a good deal of time in the studio, the rest of the time exploring or writing.

I work mostly with acrylics and inks but like to mix it up and grab whatever's at hand: oil pastel, encaustic. My paintings and collages are often abstract, organic in nature and colorful. I like working with shapes and texture, relationships and elements. I can lose an entire day in the art room, or an entire night. I find a lot of peace and joy in painting and at times am compelled. I'm at my most calm and most excited painting or writing.

I am Team Captain of Art Blogs by Etsy Artists. Consider this your official invitation. Come join and check out some very cool art blogs: http://www.etsy.com/teams/7748/art-blogs-by-…

As a contributing artist to Art-O-Mat: a fun, quirky institution whose goal is to get art out to the masses, my art blocks have sold at the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, the Smithsonian in Wash. D.C., the newly opened Cosmopolitan Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada and numerous other venues. To see the process of creating the blocks you can visit my blog ART DAILY: SOiNTOiT http://pamssointoit.blogspot.com/

My 3D CarveBoardArt was featured in the May/June 2010 issue of Somerset Studio Magazine.
