Sandy Merrell's Profile

About

I grew up at a time when things were repaired rather than replaced, so I find it nearly impossible to discard something that may be reused or repurposed somehow. That has led to my turning half-pairs of earrings, broken chain, found objects, or simply unused or neglected treasures into one-of-a-kind works of wearable art. I love to mix metals -- silver with copper, brass, gold (includes plated) -- and objects -- organic with manufactured, elegant with rustic -- to get an unexpected result.

I recently started selling some of the vintage rings I've collected over the years. I love especially the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods, with their flowing, nature-inspired designs and precise geometric styles, respectively.
