Vanessa Heaton's Profile

About

I live on small acreage in a beautiful part of central Victoria, Australia. I make unique small scale paper sculptures and hand pulled, limited edition prints, using linocut and etching techniques. I am also about to introduce a range of wearable art & practical, beautiful homewares. My work is inspired by the patterns, shadows & shapes I see all around me; both in the natural & manmade worlds. Beauty is everywhere.

As part of my ongoing efforts to be as kind to the environment as possible I use high quality water-based inks & non chemical intaglio methods to create my prints. My sculptures are constructed with paper recycled from books past their prime, newspapers, maps & sheet music joined with non toxic glue. The soon to arrive clothing & homewares ranges will be made from vintage fabrics & trims & carefully selected organic hemp & bamboo, chosen for their eco credentials…

Thank you for visiting my site, it will be updated often as I continue to explore the fascinating possibilities of visual art.

I am a proud member of NAVA Australia (National Association of Visual Artists) & strongly believe that access to high quality art should not be reserved for the privileged few.

When I'm not making beautiful things I'm collecting them, so take a look at my other store http://theuppitywoman.etsy.com where I'm letting go of some of my collection of vintage & antique lovelies.
