Scott Hale's Profile
As far back as I can remember, I've been expressing myself through drawing and painting. In 2003, I left my corporate career in Seattle and relocated to Montana, where I began painting (mostly) landscapes full time.
Whether in pastel or oil, I am moved by the variation of the American landscape, especially the West. The diversity here provides a continuous stream of inspiration for my interpretations. I respond to places where light and land and water coalesce on my soul – often in an instant, sometimes through intermittent exposure over time.
While the landscape has been my first love as a painter, I'm leery of becoming too comfortable with habit. I experiment regularly and believe doing so is critical to producing fresh work. With that in mind, I am constantly open to new stimuli for inspiration.
