Symbolism is an integral part of the African society. Many of these ancient symbols convey complex knowledge that has philosophical, moral, and spiritual meaning that everyone can relate to. Creating my line was my way of carrying these precious symbols with me in the diaspora and sharing them in a more modern context as I explored the world.

To the African, as it is in many other cultures, colors have symbolic meaning and tell the story of the wearer and I incorporate similar colors in my brass and bead jewelry as well.

My work is meant to uplift and spread the positive powerful meanings hidden in African cultural symbols and fabrics and to continue to share the beauty that lies within our (global) community.
