"Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air. . . "

I am a born artist. I hold a BA in Studio Art from CSU, Chico. In addition to pouring out a steady stream of mosaic work, I have a full time day job at the local university, a husband who works as a philosophy professor, and a bright and creative son in preschool.

I do mosaic for love, not for money. I want to share my art with the world.

A word about selkies:

In Celtic mythology, a selkie is a seal in the water but a woman on land. When the moon is full, the selkies rise from the waves, take off their seal skins, and dance on the shore as beautiful naked women.

A selkie can be trapped on land in her human form if her seal skin is stolen and hidden from her. There is a story of a man hiding a selkie's skin, and keeping her as his wife and having children with her. The children have webbed fingers. After many years, the selkie finds her seal skin and immediately returns to the sea.

Usually the tales of selkies are tragic and sad, with a certain longing when a selkie finds themselves in love with a human or the when a human finds themselves desperately in love with a selkie.

just think -- how many of the people around you are really selkies trapped on land in human form?
