I enjoy taking a piece of fabric and making it into something pretty. It may become an apron, a purse or even a piece of clothing. My earliest memory of sewing was making a blouse for Home Economics class back home in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The following year I got to make a bean bag. I picked out the best fabric they had in the store; a beautiful red pin cord material. My mum almost died when she saw how much the material cost but that was not the end of the expense. At the end of the school year, I got to bring home my project which still needed to be filled with those little polystyrene balls. It took bag after bag to fill that thing up. I was so proud of my new beanbag.
Sewing, knitting and a few other crafts have allowed me to express my creative side and has been a wonderful stress reliever. Working at a fabric store has helped me fill the need…
