About

I’m Randika; living in a small country with a 2500 year old history with art and culture. My grand mother started weaving in early 1950’s and this is the third generation running this business. My mother always encouraged me to be creative and we spent many hours’ together sewing and designing while I was growing up. She’s been a great inspiration to me and I am very thankful to have parents who are so encouraging and understanding .I will never stop learning from them.

I guess my background in history lends itself to my shop, with my very supportive husband and brother who is a freelance textile designer living in Melbourne.

Architecture also fascinated me. I moved to Melbourne attend RMIT University and studied Interior Designing. I came back to my country to live with family and friends, and help my mom’s business. I always knew i couldn’t have an office, 9-5 job,…

Architecture also fascinated me. I moved to Melbourne attend RMIT University and studied Interior Designing. I came back to my country to live with family and friends, and help my mom’s business. I always knew i couldn’t have an office, 9-5 job, a salary, a cubicle stuck in front of a computer!

Antiques, Vintage hand woven fabrics and jewelry something i always felt an attraction to. I spent hours at museums looking at hand woven materials done using age-old techniques, traditional woven patterns and natural dye colors schemes, which has always inspired me.

I try to fill my life with nature, simplicity and beauty as much as possible. I've always had a strong interest in plants and animals, Traveling is something that I do as much as possible and explore new places with my husband and enjoying nature and culture around.
