Kara Canjura's Profile

About

I was born and raised in a small town in Western Kansas. My mother is a retired art teacher. She has always shared her love of arts and crafts with her family. My father is a farmer who can fix/build anything. This was the perfect environment to foster creativity.

I have always loved crafts. For as long as I can remember, I always have some project going, whether it’s sewing, needlework, or rubber stamping. My Mom was the first person to introduce me to beads. I fell in love with all those shiny little objects. My jewelry making is wide ranging. I enjoy simple stringing, as well as bead weaving and wire work. When I discovered metalwork I found my nitch. What can be more fun than playing with fire and beating things into submission with a hammer! It’s very cathartic after a long day of chasing kids.
