Jessee J. Smith's Profile
Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my shop and have a look around.
I’ve been making jewelry with seed beads since I was 12, and my fondness for tiny beads is still going strong. I learned basic metalworking techniques in college and began experimenting with lost wax casting in 2002. With metals, the learning process is never-ending—there’s always something new to try.
Much of my work unites these various approaches to working in metal, and I often combine lost wax casting with constructed elements. I love working with my hands, and that’s reflected in my jewelry and sculptural pieces. I enjoy making constructed jewelry “from scratch,” starting with simple sheet metal and wire and my own designs.
I double-majored in art and natural science, and my husband and I are entomologists…
