brief bio
My name is Sara. I'm a quirky, random, free thinking girl who loves to create, design, free the images and ideas that are constantly bouncing around in my head.
I grew up in a old midwestern farmhouse with 3 generations of beautiful artistic women who instilled a deep passion and love for everything creative. I've always been 'crafty'... doodling, drawing, painting, sewing, cutting, pasting.... I love creating and finding beauty in seemingly ordinary things.
I am married to a wonderful man and father to our 2 year old daughter. When I'm not spending time with family, I'm…

I am married to a wonderful man and father to our 2 year old daughter. When I'm not spending time with family, I'm usually reading, gardening or daydreaming about my next tattoo. I recently graduated with a degree in Graphic Design and work as a graphic designer at Michels Corporation.

inspiration
for me, it's everywhere.
patterns woven into fabric. flower petals. book covers. Ray Lamontagne. bird nests. brandy old fashioneds with cherries. the noise leaves make when the breeze blows.
Things that normally go unnoticed because we are rushing through life or just not paying attention are what inspires me the most. They are like little hidden treasures that I was lucky enough to see before anyone else.

my art
each canvas is an original. each brush stroke spreads paint poured straight from my heart. a piece of me goes into each piece.

process/evolution
I rarely finish a painting in one day. Each is a work in progress and always evolving. When I'm not painting, the canvases are hung on a large wall in my living room. Not only does this keep my focus on the endless possibilities, every time I see them it evokes an indescribable feeling. To take an idea and watch it grow, taking shape in front of your very eyes, is like speaking without using words.
Each time I look at one of my creations, it's like seeing it for the first time. It has always been my dream to share that feeling/emotion with others. I hope that my art speaks to people the way it speaks to me.
For someone to see my work, stop and feel that tug on their heart as it recalls a buried emotion or inspires a new one. That is why I paint.

future
"in my head there's a greyhound station
where I send my thoughts to far of destinations."

my mind is constantly developing, pondering, contemplating new designs so please check back often. Thanks!
