Paul Buhrmester's Profile
I've been doing pyrography since December 2008. Most of my projects are made on reclaimed wood, found materials, or dried gourds with jewelry made of tagua and bone. I love learning more and more about all kinds of art and how I can make more interesting and fun items. When people ask the question, "What would you do if you won the lottery?" or "What would you do if you retired (though I'm very far from there)?"...well I think this would be it.
As in my daily life, I strive to be as environmentally friendly as I can when it comes to making crafts. When possible, I use recycled or reused wood. I grow my own gourds or purchase them locally; use fallen tree limbs for pendants, coasters, and more; use reclaimed pallet wood for signs, coasters, and other projects; and more. There are still times when I purchase new wood from the hardware store, but reusing & recycling is more…
