Artist Techniques- Some of the processes I use in my jewelry designs include:
Hand Fabrication: Shaping, soldering, melting, fusing and forming unique beads, links, and pendants.
Forging: Shaping through controlled, directional hammering, periodically annealing to maintain metal integrity.
Lost wax casting: I begin by carving a model out of wax. I then mold it and place it in a heated kiln until the wax is completely burned out. Later, the mold is removed from the kiln while it is still hot and liquid silver (or gold) is poured in the void left by the wax. As soon as the void is filled, the whole mold is submerged in water leaving the finished cast piece free to be recovered and finished.
