About Me, My Art & Etsy
Hello, my name is Cathy Horvath-Buchanan. I live and work as an artist, in Port Stanley, Canada, along with my wonderful husband Shawn & our sweet hound dog Patches.
The art I create is the product of my years at art school, practical experimentation & quiet observation. Over time my art has evolved to become the colorful folk art graphic style you see in my Etsy shop. It always amazes me how putting color to canvas can absorb and convey a lifetime spent looking.
I've been so pleased…

About Me, My Art & Etsy
Hello, my name is Cathy Horvath-Buchanan. I live and work as an artist, in Port Stanley, Canada, along with my wonderful husband Shawn & our sweet hound dog Patches.
The art I create is the product of my years at art school, practical experimentation & quiet observation. Over time my art has evolved to become the colorful folk art graphic style you see in my Etsy shop. It always amazes me how putting color to canvas can absorb and convey a lifetime spent looking.
I've been so pleased with the response my artwork has received from the etsy community, and excited by artwork licensing opportunities from manufacturers seeing my artwork on etsy and contacting me...something which I strongly encourage : )
I've been expanding the subjects and the way I convey my artwork. I recently added art prints in 5x7 and 8x11, and in the near future will be adding 11x14 prints and downloadable/printable products including coloring pages to my etsy shop.
I believe that art can give life to a space. The colors, forms and ideas in a work of art can have a profound emotional effect on the viewer. The visual language of art is accessible to everyone. I love to hear from, and see photos, from those collecting my art and how they've included it in their home, or given as a gift to someone special who they knew would enjoy a colorful work of art.
I appreciate all the wonderful feedback and messages of support from fellow 'etsiers', I look forward to many more uplifting convos and sharing of my art.
Cheers, Cathy : )
