Herbee O'Connell's Profile

About

Hi! My name is Herbee (a nickname I got as a little girl from a friend!) and I'm from Newbury, Ohio. I live in a century home with my husband, 2 sons, 4 dogs, 5 cats and 2 big aquariums filled with koi and fancy goldfish. My work station is in the kitchen in front of a big window where I can watch the birds at my feeders and the falling snow in winter.

My earliest memory of art is when I was about 4 years old...in the dining room of my childhood home, there were 6 drawers built into the wall and each of us kids had a drawer for our stuff. Mine was filled with paper and crayons and spent many hours drawing and colouring. I love creating all kinds of art and I've found that one thing leads to another. So, I paint a picture. Then I need some pillows to offset the colours in my painting, so I buy some fabric. While I'm buying fabric, I see some beads. Glass beads. I've always loved glass, so how about I take a stained glass class? Then I could make a stained glass candle holder and string some beads on some copper wire and then...and then...

See..that's how the whole thing just snowballs.
