About

I make jewelry because my happiness is contingent on creating stuff. I am a knitter of hats, baker of pies and engineer of bird toys. I have worked in photographic printmaking, drawing, installation art, as well as in words and poetry.
For me, the process of designing and creating is an exercise in suspending disbelief. It is amazing that so much can be constructed from a pile of tiny beads and spool of thread: a ribbon, a rope, a bracelet, a flower...
Over the years, I have collected many treasures -- from Cracker Jack prizes to buttons and hardware. I enjoy using these found objects in my work. A vintage bead, a washer or a button can provide my inspiration, and sometimes the entire narrative, as a piece comes together.
I live in Somerville, MA with my husband & daughter and two parrots: Iggy (a Timneh grey) and Sparky (a Pacific parrotlet).
