Steve Sprinkle's Profile

About

I currently live in Irving, a suburb of Dallas, Tx. I became interested in pottery while attending Texas Tech U. in the late 1960s and started my pottery career, full time, when I opened a studio in Austin, Tx in 1974. I mainly work in stoneware, but like most long time potters I have worked with a variety of clay bodies and firing techniques.

Most of my production goes to making pottery for historical / living history reenactors. I make pottery to fit whatever time period they portray. However, the pieces I show on this site are not historical reproductions, but are functional pieces for our contemporary lifestyle. They are meant to be used and enjoyed.
