Matt Adams' Profile

About

I am a wood carver and spoon maker in Houston, TX. I started making wooden spoons and kitchen utensils soon after Hurricane Ike when there was an overabundance of wood that came down because of the storm. I worked in Live Oak, but soon discovered other woods here in Texas and abroad. The main thing that I did though was discovered you could make a spoon from just about any wood. I made a conscious decision to only use logs, boards, front doors, and other forms of salvaged/reclaimed woods to make stuff out of. I hope that you like my body of work, and please feel free to ask me any questions that you might have. Also, if you would like a commissioned piece, please let me know.
