About

Greetings,

My best friend, Anna Banana, and I started making jewelry together in 2004. It started with a trip to a bead show in Pittsburgh and has snowballed ever since then. We became addicted to beads. We couldn’t get enough and one was better than the next and we kept buying and designing. We loved beads so much we took a class on how to make your own glass beads. It was so exciting to see what we could come up with. (We even talked our husbands in to going with us and to our surprise found that they had a flair all their own.) My husband has even designed a few items you will be seeing in the shop.

We would spend many late nights working on the designing process of our pieces totally losing all track of time. Back then we both still had jobs so heading into work exhausted was better than missing an opportunity to work with the beads…

About

Back then we both still had jobs so heading into work exhausted was better than missing an opportunity to work with the beads. When Ann retired she started taking many different kinds of hands on classes and found a new addiction in paper. She began making her own paper and books all by hand. They are the most amazing things you will ever see. She was torn between time for the beads and time for the books. Unfortunately for me she chose the books. Lucky for you that she will be opening her own Etsy store soon. So I went on buying beads and creating one of a kind art. Then my job became more demanding and the jewelry was placed on the back burner.

For me, life took a big change in March and my family and I moved to Florida. What a great opportunity for me to get back to working on my jewelry. Especially since the jewelry making items took up most of the space in the moving van. I promised myself I would not create any more jewelry until I got my Etsy store up and running.

It’s been so exciting getting it setup and constantly adding to it and tweaking what is there. The thing that slows me down the most is taking the pictures to upload to the site. Oh my, what a process that has been. Too dark, too bright, blurry or the colors were distorted. Luckily for me I got a new partner. (I wasn’t even looking for one!) For now I’ll call him the “Orange One”. He has been in on every part of the setting up of this store. He is either sitting on the keyboard while I am trying to type or is determined to help me pick out what pieces to put on the site. (I lay out all the items on the table and as I’m laying them out he is busy picking his item.) So I take his selection to photograph and he climbs in the light box to make sure I’m doing it right.

Hopefully, as time goes on, he will become bored and you will be seeing less and less of him.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and enjoy yourself.

Sue

PS Be sure to stop back I’m trying to get more pictures taken to upload.
