Since the age of 16, I worked as a florist. At that time, I knew that being a florist was what I wanted as my career. Going to work everyday and not knowing what the day would bring (a wedding, a large order, etc) was so exciting to me. No two days were the same. I also enjoyed the challenge of creating different pieces that all types of customers would like. When I first started designing arrangements, my boss told me, "You can't just make the types of pieces you like, you have to make what the customer likes, too." That is some of the best advice I have received. In 2003, I had to leave the job I loved due to an illness. But, because of that, I found a new creative outlit...jewelry making.
