Brande Arno's Profile

About

Although I have been painting full time since 1998, my artist journey has taken many paths. I started with studio still life painting to train my artist eye. In 2004 I ventured out of the studio to began painting en plein air. In 2011 I officially joined the "Daily Painting" movement.

My favorite subjects to paint plein air are farm animals. I'm very drawn to grazing cows. You'll find my car pulled way over the shoulder of the road with my easel set up close to the pasture fence.

It is a real treat to find a pasture of beef cows as they are usually allowed to have their calves grazing with them. To hear the little calves attempts at mooing and observe the moms caring is a real blessing for me. I try to capture the peace and contentment of the cow with her day to day life and with her calf…

Although I have been painting full time since 1998, my artist journey has taken many paths. I started with studio still life painting to train my artist eye. In 2004 I ventured out of the studio to began painting en plein air. In 2011 I officially joined the "Daily Painting" movement.

It is a real treat to find a pasture of beef cows as they are usually allowed to have their calves grazing with them. To hear the little calves attempts at mooing and observe the moms caring is a real blessing for me. I try to capture the peace and contentment of the cow with her day to day life and with her calf.

In the studio, I'm inspired to paint the beauty and fragility of hummingbirds. In the colder months I set up seed feeders and a warm water bath for the hearty birds of winter. With my drawing table set up by the window, I can sketch and photograph the Chickadees, Cardinals, Juncos and Wrens that visit. Often followed by a small oil painting.

With Etsy making it easier for the art buyer to connect with the artist, my work has been purchased from coast to coast in the USA and in parts of Europe.

My Etsy shop, "Off the Wall Paintings" features small paintings 4 x 4 inches to 6 x 6 inches that do not require a frame. Each painting comes with it's own display easel. Because of their size they are affordable. They also would make a meaningful gift.

Thank you for visiting my shop and reading about me. I hope you will favor my shop. If you would like to see my paintings as they are painted join my blogsite:
