Hello and welcome to Studio Goosis! Thank you for stopping in.

I am an Interior Designer by degree, an artist by choice. Way too long ago, it was the fear that “you can’t make a living being an artist” that propelled me into the field of Interior Design, and it has been an interesting and educational journey – albeit not filled with the creativity that I crave. When the opportunity arose, I started studying ceramics and jewelry, which led me into a new and wonderful direction that I have truly enjoyed.

I love the extremes - nothing in between. I am drawn to the crusty, rusty, aged and ugly. I love to work with texture and earthy references, found objects and cast-aways.

I also have an equal affinity for simplicity…crisp, clean lines, ultra modern, bright colors or stark colors, with a “less is more” attitude. I used to think I had to choose between the two, but not anymore. Why put yourself in a box when there are so many wonderful ways to incorporate what you love into your life and your art. If I could, I would live in a big old historic home with cobblestone walks and grandpa aged trees in the yard, then fill it with ultra modern furnishings, wild light fixtures, and crazy artwork – ah, the best of both worlds!

I am currently working in a variety of mediums: ceramics, jewelry and mixed media. My core is ceramics, having studied in that area for many years, but at this point, I am having fun experimenting with the variety of work. I find it stimulating and educational to break away from what is common to me and to try something unfamiliar. All of my work is one of a kind. I take great pride in the quality of my work and hope you will enjoy the time and care taken with each piece. My work has been represented in several Chicago area art galleries. I also have another site at MeOhMyHome.etsy.com.
