Barbara Hart's Profile
My goal is to make interesting jewelry for interesting women. I am inspired by the particular nature of the beads themselves -- many of the beads I use are rare or somehow unusual. The resulting pieces have a bit of a "voice" (as in "statement" necklace). My inspirations include the jewelry worn by Georgia O'Keefe, Frida Kahlo, the women in the film "The Hours". My muses are women who appreciate classic design, but aren't afraid to step out of the box.
PRICING: I am very selective about my materials, while also mindful of the cost to the customer. My findings are all sterling silver, unless otherwise noted. I use sterling silver leverbacks for my earrings -- this makes my earrings a bit more expensive than other jewelry artists', but my earrings are also much less likely to be lost with this more secure finding.
