ABOUT ME:

I live in the DC area with my husband, daughter, and cat.

I grew up in PA and started a career as a travel agent. I got laid off after 9/11 but it worked in my favor because I was getting married and moving the next month anyway.

Once we got married I realized how nice it was not to have to go to a job...so I started making my living from home. I began as a daycare provider when our daughter was young and started making soap as a hobby. I was finally convinced to start a website so here I am! When we moved to our current home, I decided to give up daycare and pursue my soapmaking business full time instead.

I love all kinds of crafts. I scrapbook, knit, crochet, sew, cross stitch, and work with paper. I've actually started another shop featuring some of those crafts. You can find it at AngiesOthers.etsy.com.

I'm a proud member of the Capital Region Etsy Street Team (CREST) SAFE Team (Soap Artisan Friends of Etsy), Homefront Team, and Trade-A-Holics Team.

ABOUT MY SOAP:

All of my soaps are handmade using only the finest ingredients. Among these are olive oil, coconut oil and organic, sustainable palm oil.

What do each of these ingredients do?

Olive oil creates a moisturizing and conditioning bar.

Coconut oil produces lather.

Palm oil creates a hard, long lasting bar.

Other ingredients:

Sodium Hydroxide (lye) acts as a saponifying agent, turning the oils into soap. When soaps is made properly, there is no sodium hydroxide left in the end product; only saponified oils.

What you will NOT find in my soaps:

My soaps contain no harsh chemicals such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) or Sodium Lauryl Ether Sulfate (SLES). These ingredients dissolve the oils on your skin, which can cause drying.

Some of my soaps contain allergens (such as nuts and chocolate) or ingredients that are not vegan-friendly (honey). Please be sure to read all ingredients before purchasing any of my products.
