Susie Phillips' Profile

About

I live a half block from the Atlantic Ocean on Long Island, and I love the beach the best during the off season. Some days, there's driftwood all over the beach. Other days, seagull feathers. There's a time of year when all the small clam shells have natural holes at the top - perfect for stringing.

Growing up on a large wooded property, we always had found objects sprinkled all over the house. A couple of pinecones and a butterfly wing on a windowsill, feathers collected in small ceramic bowls on a dresser, shells and stones from beach and sailing trips on a coffee table... all more beautiful than any store bought thing.
