Julia Bentley

Inspiration. I find it all around me. Living in beautiful rural New England area allows me to get up close with nature and incorporate it into my creations. I enjoy hand making my wearable art in my studio in New England. I love taking plain silver wire and making a piece of art out of it. There is a thrill in transforming a piece of copper and creating an enameled jewel.

Every piece I make is a journey. As I'm always experimenting and learning new things The journey is never the same. Whether inspired from my backyard or from my travels around the world, I like my jewelry to have a story. i use my own photos to etch metal for enameled designs. I constantly take classes at the New Hampshire Art Institutes to learn new techniques and improve on current one. Life is a journey of lessons and I use them to their fullest.

I buy recycled silver whenever possible. I reuse or recycle my scrap. I also reuse found items. All handmade parts are stated as such. Relevant information will be included for each piece.

Last but not least, SunshineBird Arts is named for my yellow cockatiel 'Sunshine' who sometimes helps me make bead color choices but mostly makes me smile.

Enjoy the journey that life takes you and include some of my journeys with yours!
