About

Shop reopening in November 2016 after a break due to illness.
Welcome to my shop! I design and hand craft every item. No outsourcing, importing or mass production. My designs are high quality and beautifully made with love and time and great attention to detail. I have been making hand felted crowns for 12 years.
My hand felted items are made with the view for longevity and can be gently washed. Unlike a lot of other hand made felt, my felted wool is firmly felted, this gives it a smooth and flatter appearance than others work and means the fibres are very difficult to pull out. This is a longer process but I prefer to spend more time in giving a better quality finished item. For the background felt I blend a personally selected variety of merino and silk fibres which gives a lovely depth and texture to work on.

The surface design ( decorating and drawing on top of the background felt ) is really a special part of the process and where I can really be creative. I lay several layers of fibre before I commence wet felting. This process is done on day 1. The crowns need several stages, done over several days.
I aim to make every item unique and put a great deal of love and joy into every piece and to create unique, long lasting, heirloom, cherished items. I consider environmental issues in the making process and I only use high quality / natural materials. I am happy to discuss your custom order. All items are gift wrapped ready to give.
Please allow plenty of time ( 6 weeks is ideal ) for custom orders. You can always message me and I will see if a shorter time is possible - if I have the materials readily available. Items that are in stock/pre-made are sent out within 7 days of ordering.
Many of my designs are Waldorf/Steiner influenced, following the several years as a parent at a Steiner school in London, and reflect the view that the soul and imagination of a child are richly nourished by beautiful yet simple playthings made with care and respect.

I have written two books on Needle Felting for Search Press (UK).
I teach freelance craft workshops, one off workshops and short courses at various locations. I have taught and exhibited at the Knitting and Stitching show, am a visiting tutor at Guilds, womens groups, craft shops, colleges, schools and arts centres. Please contact for schedules / to book a workshop.
