ABOUT Moi:
I was born in San Francisco, California to highly educated parents, and my sister is pretty darn smart too. It's unclear if I inherited the smart gene. I graduated with a B.A. in Art from Marymount College.

Over the years I illustrated and designed for newspapers, greeting card companies, in corporate graphic departments and publishing empires.

I reside with my antique dealer husband and two chubby house rabbits in the third oldest home in CT-(honest!-no ghosts-bummer). He is opening his own ETSY shop called: "VintageUrban".

ARTIST STATEMENT:
I seek to amuse. When I come up with something more profound I'll put it in here.

MORE ABOUT MY ART:
I took time out from the commercial world to re-discover my art and to create images that reflected my own authentic voice. Though not entirely self-taught, my work evokes a whimsical contemporary folk art syle, not unlike the characters I used to draw as a young artist. I like to call my style "Neo-Folk Art" as it's narrative form allows me to express myself honestly; and move back into the illustration and fine art market seamlessly.

KUDOS:
Over the years my work in various forms has been published in:
NYTimes, DollWorld, Contemporary Doll Collector, Westport Magazine and more publications.

In 2007 I was invited by Connecticut's Governor to create an ornament for the state Capitol's holiday tree.

I am the founder of American Holiday Artists-search our teams art: AHATEAM or AHA here on ETSY.

My illustrations will soon be seen on a popular brand of gourmet ice cream in Spring of 2011 that will be distributed all over the State of Connecticut. Try their Sinful Ginger-it's to die for.

That's it for now.
Love,
SU
