About

Every image sold in this shop is from a project entitled, "The Swan Dreams Project." The project was inspired by my own challenges with self-esteem and self image as an African-American woman coming of age in a world of classical ballet. My mission is to not only use imagery to expose under-served communities to artistic beauty and expression, but to infuse young women with a sense of pride, self-worth and belief in themselves.

For every item sold, a portion of the proceeds will go towards organizations that are spreading the art of ballet to communities that have little to no access to the art form. These organizations are also giving these children a powerful outlet and equipping them with very beneficial tools that they will carry with them for life. These organizations work daily to keep their doors open, providing instruction for little to nothing and sometimes for free, so that…

These organizations work daily to keep their doors open, providing instruction for little to nothing and sometimes for free, so that more and more families can allow their children a chance to experience the beauty and power of ballet.

Many young women have already been touched by the many images donated so far, but help is needed for this message and imagery to continue to touch lives.

VINTAGE ITEMS:

The vintage items found in this shop are all inspired by my many years as a professional ballerina. Either a particular ballet I performed has inspired my purchase or just the sheer beauty of the item reminded me of the majesty of ballet. The dressing room tables of the prima ballerina's filled with beautiful items that held their most precious stage jewelry, make-up or favorite perfume, the head-piece table overflowing with tiaras, floral and rhinestone pieces to the beautiful costumes worn night after night.

Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my shop. Please come back soon!
