Sylvie Heasman's Profile

About

I started painting when I was three, finger painting then with brushes. At 12, I was leaning over a friend's shoulder and asked him what he was drawing, he said," Sylvie! it's a tree." When I lived in South Africa I made my living out of dying fabrics for Quilters. :-) I have had my work featured in 'Talking Threads', a magazine based in Pretoria, South Africa. I've also been fortunate enough to have one of my quilts photographed and mentioned in a British magazine called Fabrications, Quilting For You, in their Quilt Gallery ( Quilts UK, Malvern ). My Ship Ahoy quilt got a Judges Merit award.
You can see the photo's affiliated with these magazines displayed on my 'Pintrest' page. http://pinterest.com/SylviesFabArt/ , on a board called Craft Ideas.

I don't actually live in Durham USA, my designs are printed for me by Spoonflower and the way Etsy's system works I have to put that in as my location. In fact I am in Australia, so that's why my hand painted work is posted from here :-)

I also am the Captain of the Quilts Quilts Quilts Team. We have a blog called http://etsyqqqteamsblog.blogspot.co.nz/
