About Me and Little Junebug Graphics! I've been making and selling personalized stationary items since 2004. I have many repeat Little Junebug Graphics customers, and I can't wait to meet YOU and get to know YOU!
My name is Sally! I am a wife, a mom, a teacher, a musician, an artist, a fitness instructor, a volleyball player (well, I try), a bike rider, a business owner, and a lover of life and all that God has made. I have two fabulous children who keep life very interesting, and a husband who is full of adventure. He once had me repelling down a really, really high mountain. Did I mention that I’m deathly afraid of heights? I made it to the bottom, and amazingly tried it once more. (It was actually a lot of fun!!)
Before becoming a mom I was a teacher; a college instructor. Yes, I taught college. I taught graphic communications and printing to young adults finding their way in the world. I taught at Chowan College in Murfreesboro, NC and I taught at Clemson University in South Carolina. Go Tigers!! I also taught at the Art Institute of Tennessee~Nashville, and am currently teaching at her sister school, Brown Mackie College here in Birmingham, AL. I LOVE it. I loved my students and I love the graphic communications and printing world. Look around you. There are graphic communications everywhere you look from the newspaper and magazines on your table, to the control panels on your stove and microwave, to the milk jugs cooling in your refrigerator. (And of course these really sweet note cards, invitations, announcements, etc. found in this Etsy Store.) All of it designed and printed. Isn’t it fun?
The technical stuff: I have a BA from Furman University. I have a Masters of Industrial Education and a Doctor of Vocational and Technical Education from Clemson University both with a concentration in Graphic Communications and Printing. I have operated all kinds of printing presses from the fun little duplicators to the large format presses of offset printing, flexographic printing presses (labels, and most newspapers these days are printed on this type of printing press), and the flat bed and t-shirt presses of the screen printing process. I have even had the experience of running a small gravure press (your National Geographic Magazine, your wallpaper, your candy wrappers and maybe even your gift wrapping paper were printed on this type of printing press). It’s not just about running the presses, it’s about everything that comes ahead of that from concept and design to the technical prepress process all leading to the press. It’s all so much fun.
