My architectural education and experiences have taught me the value of learning-by-doing. For the past few years, I have been obsessed with making things by hand: From thaumatropes and pinwheels to pop-up cards, the art of paper has captured my attention.

I am enamored by books; they stimulate almost all my senses. I love the way they smell, their weight, the way the pages feel, cover design, and of course, I love reading. I began collecting secondhand novels from the used book store across the street from my apartment during college. At first, I was removing their covers to turn them into sketchbooks. Then, for a final project during one of my courses, students were challenged with creating a new product from an otherwise wasted material.
