About

Born in Arroyo, PR and raised in Philadelphia, I learned to write and read English first, played street hockey, football, and chess. Back in Arroyo, PR for my Junior year of High School, I learned to write and read Spanish, and learned to love my Island.

Back then, I made it my hobby to learn the names of the local trees, and then it became a passion to replicate some of them with wires as I discovered their personality. One Mother's Day, I gave my grandmother (RIP) a small tree with pink sea shells.

Someone in the family asked were I bought it and when I told them I had made it myself, they told me to make and sell them. That's how I ended up creating trees with wires and sea shells. The name "Taller Mar Bueno" translates to "Good Sea Shop" since most of my material came from the sea shore of my home town. I took it to study the basics of bonsai since I wanted my trees to have a more natural look.

The trees have evolved and I have too. Now living in Humacao, PR, my new passion is photography but my youngest daughter, Maria Esther, Maty as she likes to be called, and I still work with trees. She also likes to draw and paint. These are the items, along with the photography of the Island what I wish to share and offer all.
