I started with a small collection of vintage hankies and linens given to me by my wonderfully crafty grandmother, Nonna, who could do it all ! When I think of her I still see her in the family garden, or at her old Singer sewing machine, or her craft table in the basement, or the kitchen with the aromas of her delicious creations wafting through the house...always busy creating. My Mom and her five kids (I'm the middle kid) were lucky to grow up in my grandparents home and be influenced by her creativity. Every now and again I would take out my grandmothers small linen collection to launder and look at, maybe put one or two in a frame or drape over a curtain rod for a simple window treatment...only to tuck the rest back into a drawer.
One day I was doing just that, framing two hankies for my new shabby chic bathroom, it seemed a shame to keep these beautiful little pieces of linen…
