I love working with fabric! My first love is quilts, but just like cookies, there's always room for one more. My grandma taught me to quilt, and she nurtured my curiosity to try new things and see what happens. (Or, "throw it on the wall and see what sticks".)

She also taught me that loved ones should receive the best we have to offer. To that end, I make my items using techniques that will keep the item in use the longest. Some of my techniques are time consuming and old-fashioned, but I choose them to keep items in use for generations.

Keeping fabric items in use on beds and tables means they need to be 1. STURDY and 2. Washable! Every quilted item I construct is made from pre-washed fabric, with full 1/4 inch seams. This means that they will hold up to daily use, and in a delicate wash…

Keeping fabric items in use on beds and tables means they need to be 1. STURDY and 2. Washable! Every quilted item I construct is made from pre-washed fabric, with full 1/4 inch seams. This means that they will hold up to daily use, and in a delicate wash.

I acquire my fabric in a variety of places- quilt shops, fabric stores, second hand and thrift stores. Quality is more important to me than provenance, and after 25 years of working with fabric, I have a bit of experience in separating the wheat from the chaff! :-) My goal is to make functional items that are also affordable and fun.

Some wallhangings are mixed-media. Items that include paper or trinkets are not washable, but they will be clearly labeled as "do not wash".

All finished items are made or repaired by me in my smoke-free home studio.
