Mary Dosch's Profile
My husband and I have been full-time potters for over thirty years...he does wheel-thrown pots...I do slab pots.
We have a gallery in an old brick schoolhouse where we sell our work as well as that of dozens of other regional artists. Why are we called Brickyard? After fire destroyed the original school in 1921, the local brickyard donated the bricks to build the replacement, so they named it Brickyard School. It's a great building with great karma!
We "rescued" the building way back in 1978, and people thought we had lost our minds buying an enormous old rundown schoolhouse to start an art gallery. Young and idealistic won out, and we've never looked back.
I have surrounded our building with many perennial gardens and an enormous vegetable garden to feed my passion for cooking.
It hasn't always been easy making pots, running the gallery and raising two daughters along the way, but I wouldn't…
