With a background in the arts,architecture, building, landscape, and furniture design,I lean towards geometric and simple forms in my functional and non-funtional work. The idea is to keep the object uncluttered, easily penetrating the senses.

The materials and methods I use in my functional and sculptural work are casting and hand-building using metal-infused concrete. I developed this system in the mid 1990's for concrete countertops and furniture and have since incorporated it into a fine art and functional art medium.

The appearance of the material can be described as bronzed metallic stone, as the atomized (finely powdered) metals co-combine with cement to form a completely separate, distinct medium. The result is a much harder compound able to be polished to a fine satiny gloss or honed to an eggshell matte finish…

Unlike brittle ceramics this medium has a stone-like quality, but it truly is a stone/metal hybrid, with the appearance, feel, and weight of both metal and stone. The pieces are solid, not hollow construction and will have a substantial weight to mass ratio.
