About

My name is Jen. When I was 12 years old, I went to visit my Memere. She lived in a trailer in a senior community at the time and there wasn't a whole lot for a kid to do there. She recognized my boredom and took the time to show me how to crochet. My first project was an awfully tacky Brown, Orange and White pillow that I later gave to my mother. My Memere made sure that first project had every stitch in it so that I could really know what I was doing. She later took the time to teach me to read patterns.

A funny fact is that Memere hated my color choices. She couldn't understand why I couldn't just crochet with the colors that the patterns suggested. She pushed hard for me to make sweaters, hats and clothes for myself and for new babies in our growing family. But I dug my heels in. I loved AFGHANS and Toys.

I wish she were alive today to see the shop. I know she would have been SO proud.
