Nathan Wood's Profile

About

I am primarily a self-taught woodworker, learning from the internet, books and mistakes. I spent a few weekends with a wood turner in New Hampshire when I first started. I get my inspiration from nature, which is an art form in itself. I try to keep my work as natural as possible, by using reclaimed wood and natural, food-safe finishes. My studio is surrounded by the beauty of the woodlands and rolling hills of Vermont. It is a great place to get away from the world and do what I love. I hope to do this as a full-time occupation as well as helping out my family on our small farm. My goal one day is to have a small A frame house, a garden and some animals. I'd also like to have my shop completely off the grid, using only the power of the sun and wind.
