What’s with the name?
Hilton Village is an old, quaint area in my home city. Just hearing the name, Hilton Village, conjures up the image of the specialty shops linked shoulder to shoulder, topped with charcoal gray slate, set back off the boulevard with a wide brick sidewalk. I was a Hilton Villager. Each afternoon I would take my baby daughter for a stroll in her vintage navy blue leather carriage. Sometimes the carriage bonnet would be folded all the way down and she would be sitting pretty in one of her own many bonnets with a carriage blanket and a plushy toy animal.
We would visit the wild flower garden surrounding the corner two story antique store, window shop the baby store, the card and specialty paper store, have an ice cream cup sitting at the black iron tables on the brick walk, admire the mannequins in the ladies shop windows, glace at the jewelry store displays and travel to end of…
