Mary Morton's Profile
I had my first experience with Rosemaling in 1974 when my Mother-in-Law asked me to take a class and then teach her what I had learned. I enjoyed it so much that I have been painting ever since. I now call myself an Ethnic artist because I love the tradition and history of the art forms from different countries. It fascinates me how each ethnic group has the same desire to make beautiful, elaborate designs. Whether they be painted, carved or done some other way. I enjoy doing Germany's Tole painting and Marbling, Ukrain's beautiful Easter eggs called Pysanka, the different Norwegian Rosemaling styles and the Celtic Knotwork that is my heritage.
