Handmade women's hats in fur felts and straws. Everything in my shop is designed and completely handmade by me.
I shape the blank hat bodies using steam and this is called blocking. My incredible collection of vintage hat blocks look like hats made of wood and the blank felt or straw gets shaped on one of these. In other words, I make a cloche hat on a cloche block, a fedora hat on a fedora block, and so forth. You can go here to see a hat being blocked. Millinery is very interesting to see.
I don't use a sewing machine - except for one seam on my hat linings - and everything is hand sewn. Glue is only used to secure knots in stitches.
