Deb Turcio's Profile

About

Hi there! I'm Deb of DebbieDrawsFunny.etsy.com and I like things that others might be way too embarrassed to ever admit. Yes, I'm a grown up but I enjoy the worst puns to the fullest and I'm all about straight up silliness. I wish I could be cool about it and say it's a completely "ironic kind of love"...but I'm an awful liar. Hold onto your eyeballs. I can't help it if my work causes them to roll out of your head and straight to the floor.

I'm a child of the 80's and a doodling fool. I think most of my sketches offer proof of that. I like puns, I like cheese, and I like to get stupid. I am the dork you either made fun of in high school or would totally attempt to high five only to have me miss your friendly hand due to my lousy depth perception. I feel you. And I feel you cringing.

But wait! There's more about me you never wanted to know about me:…

About

But wait! There's more about me you never wanted to know about me:

I spent a large portion of my childhood reenacting Saturday Night Live and Second City TV sketches. By the age of 8, I perfected a little known and well forgotten awkward laugh John Candy did on SCTV. I could hoist my pants up to my chin and do a mighty fine impersonation of Martin Short as Baby Ed. I am told there is video proof of this. Actually, I already knew about it because I'm the one who begged my parents to turn that beast of a video recorder in my way.

I tell you this because I know I'm not alone. If you've read this much of my profile then you're probably a brother from a different mother, a sister from another mister, or an unrelated bully who found out I'm still alive and kicking it out there on the internet. It's because of you that I've finally let my geek flag fly. And fly high.

Along with all the fun I have doing this weird job I invented for myself, I am called 'Mom' by our kids 15 year old Jack, and 10 year old boy-girl twins, Charlie and Amelia. My extra handsome husband John (who looks like the love child of a young dark haired Steve Martin- see? Dreams DO come true!) and I have been together since '97 while I was starting to phase out of my grunge look because I had to go work at a "real job". He's a complete obsessed-with-the-80's cheeseball. You should see his playlists.
But enough about me already, please have a look around DebbieDrawsFunny.etsy.com and see what all the dorkiness is about. And I love to hear from you, so be sure to convo me with any questions or customizing needs or just to say "Hey girl, me too".
