About

I am a wife, mother of 2 beautiful girls (ages 9 mo and 4 years) and potter. I earned my Bachelors degree in Zoology from Humboldt State University in California. Originally I wanted to go to veterinary school. While taking my math/science classes I took a lot of art classes to unwind, and fell in LOVE with clay, I blew through every ceramics class they had to offer and wanted more! When I graduated I couldn't help myself... I am a potter, I had to continue to work with clay. I was compelled. In 2009 I started my own company with help from some friends, and now I am the owner of Seattle Porcelain Company, Inc. where I make porcelain ornaments for a living (mostly for hospice), and I also make Christmas ornaments!

In my spare time and during the "off" season for ornaments I enjoy being a mom and working on my potter's wheel. I am inspired by texture and the simplicity of naturally found objects. Getting my hands into porcelain clay is one of my joys in life. I enjoy working along side my 4 year old. She inspires me to laugh more and add playful touches of whimsy to my work! -This is a labor of love, each piece has a lot of time and energy poured into it... as well as LOVE!

I make things for pleasure. Things that feel good in your hand, are comfortable to use and are beautiful enough to make you want to leave it out on the counter. I pride myself in being able to do pretty much anything, so if you have something in mind I can probably do it!

Thanks for looking! I hope you found some bits of inspiration!
