Tammie Fields' Profile

About

I grew up in the small community of New Sweden in Northern Maine. I became interested in sewing and creating things after spending a lot of time with my great-grandmother. She taught me how to sew, knit, crochet, embroider, quilt and make rugs. I learned how to turn my ideas into real things that I could touch and feel.
She also taught me the value of reusing items and finding ways to make things last.
These values, along with the skills she taught me, has given me self satisfaction and purpose.

To make something beautiful and unique is a wonderful thing, but to make to last is so much more rewarding. Especially in the "throw it away and buy another " culture we live in today.
